In another disturbing incident, this time at an elementary school in Halifax, five students were hospitalized after consuming treats containing cannabis. This event serves as another warning for parents and guardians to pay closer attention to what their children may find or receive from peers.

Dangerous Consumption Effects

One of the mothers of an affected child, who preferred to remain anonymous, shared terrifying details about her child's health condition. "My child was so stunned and disoriented that at first, they didn't recognize me or any other family members," said the distraught mother. "It was like being in a very bad dream."

Products Attracting Children's Attention

The school informed parents about the found treat packages, which attracted children with their colorful packaging and the promise of a sweet taste. "These packages look almost identical to regular sweets that every child would want to try," stated the concerned parent, adding that parents should educate their children about the potential dangers associated with accidental consumption of cannabis-containing products.

Call for Awareness and Prevention

Dr. Liam Thompson, a pediatrician at a local hospital, emphasized the importance of educating both children and parents about the risks associated with cannabis. "Even small amounts of these substances can have serious effects on young, developing organisms," he warned. Thompson also called for the introduction of stricter regulations on cannabis product packaging to prevent their confusion with regular sweets.
